Dynamic dns ( dyndns ) and Global Positionning
System :
The global positionning system (GPS)
is a system installed on a sattelite able to send you data that
indicated your coordinate ( your poistion point ) in the globe.
Actually, when a company needs to know
the position on their transport car or other material, it sends
a quey by phone to its car. The car or the machine that receives
this query will ask for its gps position and sends response
to the client ( company ).
Using the phone system as a connexion
cost very high for the company. The best idea is to install
a server on the car or a machine that could connect via the
wimax or sattelite connexion.
The server is running an application
specilaized in the determination of the gps position and also
has a dynamic dns client ( dyndns client ). This machine has
then a connexion point to a wimax internet service provider
able to give an internet address ( ip ) to it.
When the internet address changes, the
dyndns client sends a query to the dynamic dns server ( dyndns
server ) to tell it the new internet address ( ip ) assigned
to the machine ( transport car or other). The dynamic dns server
will then update the data concerning this machine. The machine
of the enterprise is usually iidentified by a name generally
an internet sub-domain name attached to the domain name of the
company. The most of these sub-domains are dynamic sub-domains
names ( they use a dynaic internet address ) and not a fixed
internet address.
Therefore, the internet connexions transport
by waves like wimax will allow company to use tracking system
by using the dynamic dns service and get data and other gps
position.
