Dynamic dns ( dyndns ) and internet web hosting.

The dynamic dns service allows people who have high speed internet connexion at home like dsl , optical connexion or other permanant connexion to install and use internet server application at home without requiring an internet hosting provider.

To install a web server at home, your internet connexion must have a fixed internet address ( fixed ip ). Else, if your ip is not fixed ( dynamic ip ), your dynamic dns service will update the dns of your domain name. This process is done by the dyndns tool software installed on your desktop that sends query to the dynamic dns server (dyndns server) when the ip changes.

Web server could be IIS , apache or other. The config of the web server is independent of the config of the dyndns toolkit.

Try first to check if your web pages are readable from your local machine by entering the http://localhost web address. If you see your pages, then try by visiting them by using the true domain name address.

Also, test first if your nslookup command responds the true internet address. ping the domain name and see if the ping command is responding.
